Sonoma County Commission on Human Rights Hate Free Community Project

The purpose of the Hate Free Community project is to educate the community about the benefits of working together to build safe communities and about hate crime prevention and response. The Hate Crime Prevention Network is a joint project of the Commission on Human Rights, the District Attorney and the Sheriff. Hate Crime Prevention Network's Community Action Committees meet regularly throughout Sonoma County and actively seek your support and involvement. The focus is to examine, strengthen and build community support for victims of hate crimes and hate violence and to design and implement strategies for preventing and responding to hate violence in the community. The project benefits local communities by providing proactive education about building inclusive communities, promoting tolerance and understanding, and actively seeking to understand and appreciate individual differences and to respect all.

Peace and Justice Center of Sonoma County

The Sonoma County Center for Peace and Justice envisions a world of peace, justice and freedom. It is a revolutionary vision of a community where differences are respected, conflicts are addressed nonviolently, oppressive structures are dismantled, and people live in harmony with the earth, nurtured by diverse traditions that foster compassion, solidarity and reconciliation. Their focus is to replace violence, war, racism and economic injustice through active nonviolence as a transforming way of life and as a means of radical change -- locally, nationally, and globally. The Center is an affiliate of the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Volunteer staff, donations, fund- raising and member organizations' fees support the work of the center. If you would like to volunteer your time or contribute a donation, please contact the center at (707) 575-8902. The Sonoma County Center for Peace & Justice is located at 467 Sebastopol Avenue Santa Rosa, CA 95401. All contributions are tax deductible.
